SRB Safety - Communication
and Alarms
Wanaka

NZQA Qualified and Ministry of Justice approved to conduct security and CCTV installations

Get to Know Us

We are a Wanaka based security, fire alarm and communication business operating in Central Otago and beyond since 2013. Adopting operating methods introduced in europe in the end 1990's, we have teamed up with a number of local, highly reliable and competent specialized subcontractors, to be able to tackle even the largest projects in a timely and professional manner. Low staff cost and keeping stock, appart from essentials, at our suppliers, we achieve low operating cost in keeping overheads to a minimum, resulting in significant cost benefits, we pass onto our valued customers.

Born and raised in Germany, I completed my training with the German Telecom as an IT technician, installing everything from basic phone systems to large telecom exchanges and the first digital communication technology, later known as ISDN.

During compulsory military service, I was trained in the installation and maintenance of radio communication equipment and took the opportunity to move into the security and fire alarm industry, presented to me after leaving the army.

In Europe most security technicians have an IT background rather than electrical.

I accepted the offer from Bosch Security and Safety Systems, the largest security and fire alarm provider in Europe and quickly progressed and climbed the career ladder from being a senior technician to a project designer and later site manager for larger projects such as numerous government institutions, embassies and museums in the former German capitol of Bonn. That gave me a rare opportunity to work with the most sophisticated, comprehensive security products available, as the expectations for top security were high and unlimited funding available.

I eventually filled the position of site manager for more comprehensive and complicated fire and security alarm installations like the Post Tower in the city of Bonn (made mainly of glass) and Toyota Formula 1 Racing factory in Cologne.

After migrating to New Zealand, I started a security company in the town of Wanaka and managed it for more than a decade, employing a number of staff throughout Central Otago, before I created my current company "Building Safety and Communication". I quickly became known for my high standards, organisational and management skills and was involved in many commercial and domestic installations for Placemakers, Mitre 10 and New World, as well as high profile private and domestic alarm customers in Central Otago.

Now after more than 3 decades of experience in the fire and security alarm industry of Europe and New Zealand, I am excited to use my expertise to offer you the industries latest developments and products available in NZ and imported directly from overseas. I have carefully selected and tested a number of manufacturers and products to incorporate into my wide product range, not only focusing on maximising security, but also to allow for individual needs, user friendliness and budgets.

Please get in touch for a design balancing the need for high quality electronic security, and reliability which will also suit your budget.

Fog Cannon

Fog Cannons

Secure your premises in seconds. Burglars can't steal what they can't see. Government subsidies are still available, Fog cannon subsidy applications open | Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (mbie.govt.nz) , so be quick. We are a factory trained, certified installation and maintenance provider

How a security fog cannon works
"Thieves can’t steal if they can’t see."

  1. Fog cannon is using a special liquid to release a fog. Depending on liquid tank size, device power, and fog releasing time (customizable by user or integrator), a full liquid tank is providing liquid capacity for one or (typically) many usages, anywhere between 30 sec to even 20 minutes or more, between the need of a liquid refill.

  2. A fog cannon is being triggered automatically by an alarm system, or most often remotely by a customer or central monitoring station operator when needed (included in Angelcam's real-time security plan)

  3. A fog cannon creates a smoke barrier within seconds, and after a while, it fills a room with dense fog.

  4. Burglars typically get startled and leave the scene immediately.

  5. In the rare case, they don't leave instantly, a smoke is preventing the intruder from seeing anything, so they are leaving just then.

  6. Visibility stays obscured anywhere between 20 minutes and several hours, depending on fog cannon power, fog production time, room size, and air ventilation (opening windows or even using fans).

  7. The fog cannon can be triggered again to increase fog density if needed.

  8. Typically fog generated has pleasant citrus or other scents to not be mismatched with fire smoke.

  9. Smoke is breathable, safe, and harmless. The smoke produced by most devices leaves no residue.
